Week 3 of college football is behind us and what a wild week it was. Let’s dive in and examine the latest Associated Press rankings of the top 25 teams in college football, the biggest changes, and what caused these changes as we look ahead to week 4.

The AP Top 25 Poll: Week 4

Wisconsin plummets with a loss to BYU in Madison and takes the title of this week’s “biggest mover” in the latest college football rankings. The Badgers fell to BYU at home by a score of 24-21 in a game they were favored by 23.5 points. Wisconsin fell from 6th to 18th in the AP ranks whilst BYU finds themselves in the 25 spot – their first ranking since 2015.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys leap 9 spots in the AP rankings with an impressive 44-21 win over the former 17th ranked Boise State Broncos. The Cowboys were 23rd heading into the matchup but the 44 points on a stout Broncos defence has orange and black rise to 15th in the nation.

LSU takes down its second top 10 team in the span of three weeks with a 22-21 last-second field goal win at Jordan Hare stadium against the 7th ranked Auburn Tigers. Parlaying this with their week 1 win over Miami, the Tigers of LSU have garnered some serious national attention. LSU goes from 12th to 6th this week while it seems like yesterday the purple and gold were given 25th spot in the pre-season polls. Thanks to a brilliant throw on 4th and 7 by Joe Burrow, and a line-drive kick from the leg of Cole Tracy, LSU heads into week 4 slated at number six.

Both USC and Arizona State fall out of the top 25 with losses to Texas and San Diego State respectively. Texas made easy work of the 22nd ranked USC trojans but still find themselves unranked – they are clearly on the cusp with a massive home game against TCU on deck in week 4.
